Working with embedded indexes

Embedded indexes enable the creation of index entries for an electronic publication by adding index markers on the pages of the document.  Once the entries are completed, the index can be generated from the set of entries which were inserted in the text.  An index can be generated at any time for review then be appended at the end of the document.  Individual index entries or tags are inserted in the text which can then be used to compile the index .  Indexing entries are simply lines of codes which readers interpret as either index entries or cross-references.  Follow this blog to learn how embedded indexes are created.
